You're out with your ladies having a good time-
Then the awkward "Oh shit! He's here!!!"
Then you pray and wish and hope he doesn't see you, yet it's all in vain as you just made eye contact.
Eye contact obviously means that you have to go say hi, which inevitably leads to awkward, weird and semi fake greetings.
All the while you're inner voice is screaming at you!
You end the conversation politely and as you sigh to yourself you think all about your awkward crazy brewing in your brain.
You reach your group of girls and the only thing you need is a shot and a martini, ASAP!
As I said, these run ins are never something to look forward to. They are filled with weird, nauseous and lunatic feelings and emotions. I tend to pretend like I do't know an ex when I see them. Maybe that is immature, but I think talking to them and getting into an argument or talking crap about them to your friends is immature.
How do you handle running into an ex?
I've never ran into the ex, but I did run into his sister once. It was even more awkward I think. I couldn't ignore her, but we were never really close either.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the gifs in this post! So funny. Nice one Krista x

I have to say this was a fun one to write, thanks for love ladies!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any exes, but I'm super awkward slash antisocial, so a lot of the time I just pretend I didn't recognize someone. Hey, wasn't wearing my glasses! Can't see for shit without them. (I often go out without glasses for this very purpose.)
ReplyDeleteI am always terrified I am going to run into an ex. I seriously have nightmares about it.
ReplyDeleteI saw my ex boyfriends car parked in a pretty small lot I had just pulled into so I HAD to leave because it was like 2 days after we broke up but then on my way out HE was leaving too and we totally ended up across from each other at a stop sign. I almost died. Needed all the alcohol.
ReplyDeletePersonally, running into my ex wouldn't be a big deal for me..but if I run into his mother..oh man..all hell would break loose!!
ReplyDeleteI know I loved them!! They fit so perfectly :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!! :)
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteI agree!! And so perfect :)
ReplyDeleteI can't see for shit without my glasses either! But I totally understand the antisocial awkwardness, I have it too :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have that fear, then other times I'm like eh oh well..but it is still kind of awkward. That's not good to have nightmares about it!!!
ReplyDeleteOh man... how awful would that be! Like come on dude!! haha it happens..all the alcohol HAHAHA
ReplyDeleteahh! I actually have the opportunity to run into the ex that hurt me most often because we still have friends in common / his mom and siblings are still in my life. At first, my whole body would LITERALLY go into panic mode and adrenaline would shoot through me and I'd have a panic attack, but since Iman and I got together, I just pity him when I see him. For example, he has refused to sit with his family at his sister's dance recital because I was sitting with them or when we were at our friend's daughter's 2nd birthday and he said hello to EVERYONE around me, but skipped me. Another little girl at the party that knows us both was like "Hey Rae! Who is that guy talking to my aunt?" and I had to full on say "Oh, that's Trevor, don't you remember you used to play with him when you were little?" and he still said nothing to me! So immature! I mean, I don't want to talk to him but a simple hello would have sufficed!
ReplyDeleteGeez dude. Maybe he's just pissed because he's missed out on an awesome girl and some other more mature/amazing guy (Iman) snatched her up and he can't get over that lol. He needs to grow up!!
ReplyDeleteWowzers! I have an ex that I still semi seize up when I see. It still hurts, but for the most part I just move on with my day. In a small town or a group of friends you have gotta do it that way.
ReplyDeleteEeek!!! I hate when you try to run and totally get caught. It is so awkward and then you feel like a complete stalker.
ReplyDeleteI have had nightmares too. Thank god they are only dreams, lol.
ReplyDeleteBahahaha! I so do that too, especially if I don't want to see anyone. I am very good at avoidance.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you, it took some research but I was pleased!
ReplyDeleteah that's so crazy! I'm sorry it hurts though :(
ReplyDeleteFunny that Ellie posted this last week, I saw my other ex on Saturday at a wedding. This experience was much better (though he overly tries to be friendly and my husband was there and they somehow ended up taking photobooth pictures together?) lol
Honestly, I think that's what it is! Also, he tells all of our mutual friends that he doesn't care if they hang out with me but that we shouldn't talk about him. Uh, hello, why would I talk about him unless we are talking about a specific memory??
